Karim Ladak was one of the founders and first Board Member of Dignity Network Canada, a coalition of 68 organizations in Canada involved in advancing global LGBTIQ human rights. He was deeply committed to our mission of supporting LGBTIQ human rights defenders and activists around the world.  Quietly, Karim provided donations to help human rights activists from around the world attend our events to learn and advocate for Canada to do more to support our communities worldwide. In recognition of this, Dignity Network Canada has decided to create a new human rights education fellowship in his name - the Karim Ladak Human Rights Fellowship. This fund will support emerging and young human rights defenders from Asia, Africa, Latin America, Caribbean and Eastern Europe to travel and attend education, learning & advocacy events both in Canada and abroad.  We know Karim would have absolutely loved this idea and we will be launching it at our international roundtable meetings in Ottawa in May 2024.
