Aider les femmes qui ont subi des blessures graves pendant leur accouchement et qui n'ont pas accès aux soins de santé appropriés dans leurs pays. Ce n'est malheureusement pas le cas pour des milliers de femmes en Afrique. C'est l'une des lésions les plus graves et dangereuses pouvant survenir lors d'un accouchement. Il s'agit d'une perforation entre le vagin et la vessie ou le rectum pendant un travail prolongé. Elle provoque une fuite d'urine ou de matières fécales par le vagin et entraine à plus long terme des problèmes médicaux chroniques. Les femmes qui en souffrent sont alors victimes d'incontinence urinaire ou fécale affectant leur santé physique et mentale. Elles sont souvent exclues de leurs communautés, condamnées à la dépression, et ne peuvent ni travailler ni aller à l'école. Un traitement chirurgical est possible, mais les centres de santé locaux manquent souvent de ressources et de formation pour effectuer ces opérations complexes. Your donation will help us offer free repair surgery to women in Africa who didn't have access to quality medical care and suffered serious injuries during childbirth. Our volunteer doctors and nurses are going to Africa in May 2024 to help women living with obstetric fistula. They will also examine women who had their surgery and offer training to local health professionals. <a href="https://www.who.int/features/factfiles/obstetric_fistula/en/">What is obstetric fistula?</a>It is one of the most serious and dangerous lesions that can occur during childbirth. It is a perforation between the vagina and the bladder or rectum during prolonged work. It causes leakage of urine and feces through the vagina and leads to chronic medical problems in the longer term. The women who suffer from it are then victims of urinary and fecal incontinence affecting their physical and mental health. They are often excluded from their communities, condemned to depression, and unable to work or go to school. You may have never heard of it because it hardly exists in countries where women have access to quality obstetric care. This is unfortunately not the case for thousands of women in Africa.
