Salaam from the Sudanese Students Union at the University of Toronto.  In light of the situation in Sudan, we have started this fundraiser for relief in Sudan. With your generosity, we surpassed our initial goal of $10,000 and now have pushed our goal to $20,000. In partnership with several Sudanese Doctor's Unions, all proceeds collected from the first round of donations (first $10,000) were and continue to be used for emergency medical relief to support civilians caught in the violence. Your contributions have since provided essential resources to those affected by the crises and aided in the delivery of life-saving care for displaced Sudanis in need of medical attention.  For the second round of donations, proceeds will be going towards food insecurity. With 90% of the population facing emergency levels of hunger, Sudan is fast becoming the world’s largest hunger crisis (as stated by the UN’s World Food Program). Coupled with Sudan being the world’s largest displacement crisis, with more than 7 million displaced, Sudanese are in dire need of assistance. Every donation counts in making a meaningful difference in the lives of innocent civilians impacted.
