Our focus in financial health, work readiness, and entrepreneurship equips students with the skills to budget, explore careers, and launch their own ventures.&nbsp; To celebrate our 70th year, our goal is to raise $70,000 in support of underserved students across B.C., helping ensure every young person has the opportunity to thrive. Many young people in underserved communities lack the financial skills and guidance to succeed. Your support gives them early access to JA programs&mdash;where 75% of participants report improved financial skills and greater motivation to stay in school and pursue further education.$75 can change a life. For 70 years, JA British Columbia (JABC) has been empowering youth across the province through hands-on, no-cost learning experiences. As Dr. Bessel van der Kolk explains in The Body Keeps the Score, childhood trauma is not only remembered in the mind but also carried in the body and brain, shaping how young people cope with stress, emotions, and relationships. Without support, these effects carry into adulthood, reinforcing cycles of poverty and instability. Yet the brain&rsquo;s capacity for healing and growth when youth are given safe, empowering opportunities inspires us to recognize that change is possible. The long-term solution to solving BC&rsquo;s most pressing societal issues begins with eradicating trauma inflicted on our children and youth. Well-cared for, educated, and safe children create a strong youth, creating resilient and productive adults. That&rsquo;s what JA programs provide. With over 25 years of experience in the investment and telecom fields, we, as the parents of two daughters, know how vital financial literacy is for young people. JA programs go beyond money management: they foster resilience, informed decision-making, and the confidence to seize opportunity. In doing so, they help break down cycles of hardship and open doors to lasting success. A single $75 donation can provide one student facing barriers with access to a JA program&mdash;an investment in resilience, empowerment, and a stronger future.
