Barn-a-Thon is a 24-hour fundraising event where participants spend an entire day at the barn taking part in horseback riding, games, crafts, relays, chores, and fun challenges. Throughout the day and night, teams work together to complete activities, earn prizes, make memories, and experience the magic of spending a full day at the barn. More than a fundraiser, Barn-a-Thon is a unique community-building experience that brings riders, families, and friends together through teamwork, laughter, and a shared love of horses. Why are we raising money? Every program, laugh, and confidence-building moment at Mission Ridge Stables is made possible by the horses, ponies, and donkeys who call our barn home. 15 out of 25 of our beloved herd members are seniors, and providing quality care comes with significant costs. Veterinary emergencies can range from $450-$2,000 per occurrence, while routine care such as dental work, medications, and vaccinations can cost hundreds of dollars per horse each year. Your support helps ensure we can provide preventative care, respond quickly to emergencies, and keep our herd healthy, comfortable, and ready to continue creating meaningful experiences for children, youth, and families in our community.
