Walk for Kids' Sake 2025 - Big Brothers Big Sisters

This year marks a meaningful milestone for the Blackfalds community! Iron Ridge Secondary and Iron Ridge Elementary Campus have proudly partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters to launch the very first school-based teen mentoring program in our town.As part of this exciting pilot, our amazing IRSC teen mentors have been building connections and making a positive impact in the lives of their elementary school mentees. To celebrate this partnership and support youth mentorship, our mentors and mentees will be taking part in the Walk for Kids’ Sake on June 12th - an inspiring event that raises funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters programming. Mentors and mentees will be working together to complete ten Safari-themed stations filled with exciting challenges. From solving clues to completing fun, interactive tasks, students will embark on an adventurous journey through the wild world of mentoring! This walk is more than just a fun event - it helps students build teamwork, problem-solving skills, and confidence while learning about the importance of mentorship. It also gives them a chance to make a real impact in their community by raising awareness and funds to support youth mentoring programs.  Our IRSC Teen Mentors are walking not just for fun, but for a future where every child feels seen, supported, and empowered - and they need your help to reach their fundraising goal! We’re calling on our incredible community to step up - whether through donations, spreading the word, or cheering from the sidelines. Together, we can make a lasting difference for the youth of Blackfalds. Every dollar raised in WALK for KIDS’ SAKE goes directly back into the community, supporting mentoring relationships that help youth realize their full potential. Let’s show what’s possible when schools and communities come together!
