Aangan Foundation

LXCL:Aangan Foundation is registered non-profit in Tkaronto with a singular goal: help people build relationships. Through hosting consistent gatherings, we aim to create a shared space for belonging in a world that’s increasingly disconnected.

An Evening by the River is a gentle invitation to slow down together, listen to the land, and meet one another with care. This gathering is also to honour the National day of Truth and Reconciliation.

Ghazal aur Guftugu translates to &ldquo;Songs and conversations&rdquo;, so expect the evening to unfold under the open evening sky, sitting in a backyard along with some chai, samosas and jalebi. We&rsquo;ll ensure there is as much time for us to mingle and connect with each other as there is for the Ghazals. To close off the night, we&rsquo;ll do a little bonfire under the stars.&nbsp;

Break bread in community. In this sourdough workshop, we&rsquo;ll move slowly together&mdash;from starter to loaf&mdash;learning how wild yeast, grain, water, and time lean on one another.

Hosting&nbsp;Chai and Chat to slow down, share stories, and listen to one another over a warm cup of chai ☕ We&#39;ll get chai and all the snacks that come along with a great cup of chai: biscuits, rusks and Khari.

For our third gathering in the village, and after a very successful Carrom night, we&#39;re bringing Ludo this coming Friday!&nbsp; The $10 ticket that allows us to have enough Samosas, chai and snacks for everyone joining.

Join us for an in-person gathering where we&#39;ll watch a thought-provoking screening followed by a relaxed sharing circle. Light refreshments will be served. Your ticket directly supports the operational needs of the local community centre, free tickets for local and indigenous community members, alongside the screening fee going towards directly supporting communities.

Queer Social and Fundraiser&nbsp;is our first gathering of queer folks, and we hope that it becomes the first of many. While there is a dearth of third-spaces in the city as a whole, it can be especially challenging to find spaces of belonging that are safe and supportive of queer folks. Additionally, we&#39;re gathering to support an important cause: we&#39;re raising funds to be able to support our friend&#39;s top surgery in Trinidad!

Rumi by the fire is an evening of poetry, especially Islamic mystical poetry (Rumi), although the evening is open to all forms of poetry and spoken word. Come to listen, come to share! We&#39;ll have a light dinner and sit by the fire for an intimate gathering.
