About Field Guide: Over the past five years, Field Guide has quietly built a reputation as one of Canada&rsquo;s most compelling new songwriters. With a sound that blends folk intimacy, indie production, and timeless pop sensibilities, he&rsquo;s taken his music from a Winnipeg basement to international stages and festivals. After his 2019 debut Full Time, Field Guide broke out with the 2020 EP You Were, whose title track found a wide audience thanks to early Spotify support. Subsequent projects showcased his range: collaborations with Toronto indie-darling Georgia Harmer, debut full-length Make Peace With That, and a full reimagining of Coldplay&rsquo;s Parachutes featuring Lizzy McAlpine, Begonia, and Dizzy. His 2022 self-titled LP, co-produced with longtime collaborator Kris Ulrich, was recorded during one of Manitoba&rsquo;s coldest winters on record and later mixed by Daniel James Goodwin (Bonny Light Horseman, Goose), the record led to an 18-city European tour supporting Penny &amp; Sparrow, followed by Field Guide&rsquo;s first North American headline run with sold-out stops at Mohawk in Austin and The Basement in Nashville. Festival highlights include Winnipeg Folk Festival, Mariposa, Treefort, Mile of Music, SXSW and The Great Escape. He has also spent much time on the road as support for artists including Bahamas, SYML, Wild Rivers, and Leif Vollebekk. 2024&rsquo;s Rootin for Ya pushed his sound further &mdash; solitary late night recording of woozy synths and drum machines paired with completely live-off-the-floor tracks. After completing his sophomore 30 date North American tour in 2024, and an 18 date US tour supporting Austin&rsquo;s Penny &amp; Sparrow in April 2025, Field Guide is now in the final stages of completing his forthcoming LP&mdash; a body of work that he&rsquo;s never felt more proud of &mdash; the record is set to release in 2026.

About Ellen Froese: Saskatoon songsmith Ellen Froese&rsquo;s latest record, Solitary Songs (out May 6th on Victory Pool Music), finds her meditating on a strange chapter of her life. &ldquo;It&rsquo;s been a weird year&mdash;lots of life changes, maybe some ego-death,&rdquo; she says. Between an ADHD diagnosis and cutting back on some vices, her perspective&mdash;as a musician, a lover, a human being&mdash;has changed. The follow up to 2022&rsquo;s For Each Flower Growing (produced with the Sheepdogs&rsquo; Sam Corbett), Solitary Songs showcases Froese singing songs that sound like dusted-off country classics with wry, down-to-earth lyricism. One moment, Froese is confessing, &lsquo;I&rsquo;m scared of getting old / But more than that, I&rsquo;m scared of living without your love&rsquo;; the next, she&rsquo;s reeling from a false-start fling, &lsquo;stray cattin&rsquo; along&rsquo; with a freshly purchased &lsquo;strawberry watermelon turbo-powered vape&rsquo;. There are no sacred cows in Froese&rsquo;s world, with blunt humour meeting heartache while the band plays on. Friendship is at the heart of Solitary Songs, which sounds like how it was made: a big hangout with friends, trying to make one another smile. Recorded at RecHall studios in Saskatoon, Solitary Songs was created through jubilant, off-the-cuff collaboration, with the band riffing arrangements while Froese penned new verses in the control room. At this point in her career, with 4 full-length albums and many international tours under her belt, Solitary Songs showcases Froese digging for the feeling of &ldquo;just making music for the joy of it, like when I was a kid.&rdquo; And as far as quitting the dopamine rush and finding self-acceptance goes? &ldquo;I guess the journey up to wellness has peaks and valleys, but it does start to level out,&rdquo; Froese muses. Indeed, Solitary Songs sees Froese&rsquo; flirting with self-acceptance while figuring things out; trying to be &ldquo;happy in the confidence of a solitary song,&rdquo; and getting your friends on board for some cheeky country-folk tunes. And nobody does those quite like Ellen Froese. About Theresa Sokyrka: One of Canada&rsquo;s most pure and honest voices with the soul of a joyful Ukrainian Baba and the chops of Karen Carpenter, Sokyrka has paved a unique career for herself the last 25 years. The multifaceted musician, singer songwriter and Reality TV 2004 Canadian Idol runner up, has independently sold over 100,000 records, securing Gold status on her first album which also garnered a Juno nomination for Pop Album of the Year. She has had two videos featured in MuchMoreMusic Top Ten. She has released 5 studio albums including an album of Ukrainian folk songs in 2010. Armed with a random trident of life experiences she continues to hone her craft. In the last 5 years she has released several cover songs with Jesse Brown that have collectively earned over 12 million streams. Sokyrka spends her time reading about mushrooms and watching birds mostly alone but there is no denying Sokyrka continues to meaningfully address an array of raw emotions with her voice and activism, connecting deeply with her ancestral matriarchal folk healing lineage through music. She is a musical force that will always emerge from the bush when she is needed.&nbsp;

About Lachlan Neville: Lachlan Neville is a musician and songwriter from Rocanville, Saskatchewan, whose writing is steeped in rural imagery, existential questions, and literary influence. Raised on Tolkien and Steinbeck, and guided by the sound of his father&rsquo;s &rsquo;62 Martin guitar, he developed a deep reverence for artists like Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, and Guy Clark. During the global pandemic, he committed fully to the craft of songwriting, developing a mature and reflective voice that quickly drew attention.&nbsp; He is the winner of the Nashville-based Henhouse Express Jr. Songwriting Competition, where he collaborated with JUNO-winning producer Steve Dawson, and has performed at Canadian festivals including Big Flat Folk Festival, Gateway Festival, Ness Creek Music Festival, Northern Lights Bluegrass Festival, and All Folk&rsquo;d Up. He has provided support for acclaimed artists such as Noeline Hofmann, Del Barber, Scott Nolan, and Slow Leaves.&nbsp; Now operating under the guidance of Western Seer Records, Lachlan has found mentorship and momentum through artist and producer Blake Berglund releasing his self-titled debut EP through the Saskatchewan label imprint.&nbsp; With a grounded vocal delivery, poetic lyrics, and a strong live presence, Lachlan Neville is establishing himself as a compelling voice in the next generation of Canadian songwriters.

About Roman Clarke: Roman Clarke has self-produced and released 3 full length albums, 2 EP&rsquo;s, and a handful of singles over the course of his highly explorative career as a musician, while writing, performing, and engineering most of them himself. Each album has built stylistically into the next, but remains rooted in hard hitting, piano driven funk. Roman specializes in poignant, but funny lyrics on topics from love to money to the music business, paired with devastating grooves and soaring stacks of vocal harmonies. His high energy, unapologetically expressive music has earned him a die-hard cult following in his hometown of Winnipeg and across Canada. The live show is eye catching and exciting - he fronts an often large outfit from behind a drum set at the front of the stage. While contributing to his ever-growing catalogue, Roman has spent most of his career out of the spotlight, as a near-constantly touring drummer, prolific songwriter, producer, recording engineer, mixer and essential collaborator to dozens of artists. About Maude Fortier: Maude Fortier is a rising saxophonist making her mark on the Montreal jazz scene. A McGill University graduate with distinction, she has studied under esteemed musicians including Camille Thurman, Jean-Michel Pilc, R&eacute;mi Bolduc, Frank Lozano, and Darrell Green. Known for her powerful sound and inventive improvisation, Maude is both a sought-after side woman and a bandleader in her own right. For the past four years, she has led her own quartet, formed of Juno Hamilton on bass, August McKinney on piano and Julian Ferrer on drums, performing at many of Montreal&rsquo;s premier venues. She has also played an active role in cultivating the local jazz community, organizing a weekly jam session at Le Bureau in downtown Montreal . Maude has shared the stage with acclaimed artists such as Ira Coleman, Darrell Green, and Kevin Dean. Her performance with the McGill Vocal Jazz Conglomerate earned her recognition in DownBeat magazine. Rooted in the jazz tradition and shaped by modern influences, her music is a dynamic blend of reflective lyricism and bold, contemporary expression. About Cyrus Felstorm: Cyrus Felstrom is a saxophonist and composer, currently based in Montreal, where he studies Jazz Performance at McGill&rsquo;s Schulich School of Music. He has had the opportunity to learn from many renowned jazz musicians including Remi Bolduc, Ira Coleman, Jean Michel-Pilc, Dave Binney, and many others. He performs regularly in Montreal, both with his own groups, as well as McGill Jazz Orchestra 1, under the direction of Marianne Trudel. Cyrus originally hails from Regina, Saskatchewan, where he had the pleasure of studying with Donny Kennedy, and Trent Reschny. He has also performed with various honour ensembles, including the Saskatchewan High school Honour Jazz Band, and the Conn-Selmer Centerstage Jazz Band, under the direction of Christine Jensen.

Performing in Winnipeg and across Canada since he was a teenager, Singer&rsquo;s been praised in music publications such as Exclaim! writing, &ldquo;Twisting languid folk-rock and bluesy alt-country into a distinct braid of sound all his own, Winnipeg&rsquo;s Sam Singer makes music that floats free of time.&rdquo;With now four Canadian tours under his belt, and Canada wide festival plays (Winterruption YEG, Real Love Summer Fest), Sam Singer is cementing himself alongside fellow Canadian independent folk artists as a staple. From winning the illustrious Schmolaris prize for 2024&rsquo;s &ldquo;Where the Rivers Do&rdquo; to performing to a sold out hometown album release show at the West End Cultural Centre, 2024 was a fruitful year for the singer. Sam Singer has performed and collaborated with an array of acclaimed musicians and filmmakers. Such as, Micah Erenberg (The Secret Beach), Julianna Rioliono, Milos Mitrovic, ABRACADABRA (Mac Demarco&rsquo;s band), Living Hour, Slow Leaves, Matt Foster, Dom Adams, to name a few. Currently Sam Singer has received funding from Winnipeg Arts Council and Manitoba Film &amp; Music for his upcoming release. About Emma McGill: Based in Regina and originally from rural Manitoba, Emma McGill is a singer-songwriter always looking to find words to score her experience living in the prairies. Since forming the indie folk / alternative country band Burrow alongside three Saskatchewan locals, McGill has accumulated an abundance of original songs and experience playing live shows in the city and at various festivals. Her writing is often rooted in nostalgia, landscape, and what it means to keep growing. About Keiran Semple: Keiran Semple is a Winnipeg, based singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist whose music moves from roots reverence to psychedelic noir&mdash;raw twang meeting endless echo in a haze of midnight reverb. Hailing from a musical family&mdash;as the son of renowned Canadian blues/R&amp;B guitarist Jack Semple&mdash;Keiran grew up immersed in music, beginning to write and record his own songs from a young age. His style is characterized by dynamic songwriting, emotive vocals, and a blend of playful melancholy that draws listeners into deeply personal yet universally resonant stories. Over the years, Keiran has released original material across platforms like Spotify and Bandcamp. Neuf salles. Neuf chansons. Neuf films racontant une qu&ecirc;te d&rsquo;identit&eacute;, celle de Bobby, &agrave; travers la solitude.-----The concept for Seul au cin&eacute;ma came to him during the Pearl tour. While playing a show in Saint-Eustache, Bobby found himself performing in a venue that was part of a movie theatre complex. That afternoon, after soundcheck, the venue manager offered him free rein to roam the cinemas. He made himself a bucket of popcorn and wandered from screening room to screening room, coming and going freely &mdash; sometimes staying for just a few minutes, sometimes longer. There were no signs outside the doors, so he never knew what he was walking into: a horror film, a romantic comedy, a popular Quebec feature. The experience stayed with him. It felt like drifting through fragments of stories, like hopping from one dream to another, never seeing how any of them ended:Seul au cin&eacute;ma &mdash; Alone at the Movies. Nine rooms. Nine songs. Nine films telling a story of identity, Bobby&rsquo;s story, through solitude.

He sings of Canadian places and people as knowingly as he might Townes Van Zandt or the Rio Grande. About Mary Liv: From your 1996 Ford Ranger to the old love letters your ex hid, there are stories that need to be told. Self-promoted, singer-songwriter, Mary Liv, creates relatable songs from real life. Her song, In The Ground, won the 2025 SOCAN Young Canadian Songwriter Award. With deep roots in Canadian fiddle and country music, Liv draws melodies and phrasing from her roots. She has a traditional fiddle album (Fiddlin Around) and an all originals album (Hello There) out everywhere. Touring around Western Canada for the past two years, Mary Liv is finding her fans. From singing to coffee shop crowds to music festival audiences, her music gets everyone dancing. As a multi-instrumentalist, Liv keeps you entertained all night!

About&nbsp;The Deep Dark Woods: Originally from Saskatchewan and now based in Southern Ontario, The Deep Dark Woods take up a deep tradition of forlorn storytelling, drawing lines from Celtic folksongs to country blues, John Fahey to Shirley Collins. Lush and devastating, Boldt&rsquo;s gothic surrealism is stark in detail and full of emotion, a murder balladeer for our time. One might be tempted to think of the Deep Dark Woods as a band steeped in capital-T tradition, and that may be true, but now nearly two decades into their life as one of Canada&rsquo;s finest folk-roots ensembles, that tradition is one of their own invention. The voice of founding member Ryan Boldt sits at the forefront of the band, and it doesn&rsquo;t take long to reveal that he is a master of subtlety and shading, working in the lineage of iconic singers like Bob Dylan, Bert Jansch, Rick Danko, and Jason Molina. Boldt, a relentless lifelong listener of music, says &ldquo;It&rsquo;s all I do. About Slow Leaves: Slow Leaves is the project of Winnipeg&rsquo;s Grant Davidson. He writes songs about the vulnerability of being a human, returning often to themes of love, loss, death, connection, loneliness, family, memory, and time. His folk and psych-rock inclinations, though rooted in the tradition of former fingerpicking songwriters, are unbound in today&rsquo;s post-genre landscape. &ldquo;I don&rsquo;t write sad songs, I write lonely songs,&rdquo; he muses regarding his last record, In Solitude, For Company. It&rsquo;s within this honesty of expression that listeners have found comfort in knowing that none of us are truly alone in our thoughts, that beauty reveals itself in vulnerability, that poetry lives in the most banal of moments. There&rsquo;s a looseness to these songs that feels intentional. Where Sam&rsquo;s solo work leans cinematic and atmospheric, and Haley&rsquo;s leans into the clever and orchestral, here they meet in the middle: warm, minimal, and a little bit rough around the edges. Live, the project takes on an even more intimate form without setlists or rigid arrangements. Just two friends singing the truth as they feel it that night.
