CAEO Québec - Canadian Association For Education And Outreach / ACÉS Québec - Association Canadienne Pour L'Éducation et la Sensibilisation

CAEO Québec promotes understanding and acceptance of sexual orientation and gender identity through educational workshops and resources. Founded in 1976, they combat discrimination and create safer spaces for queer and trans youth in the community.

Celebrate Queer Joy at CAEO Québec/Gay Line’s 50th Anniversary Fundraiser on Friday, September 18th at 8pm at the historic Café Cléopâtre! About us: CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF EDUCATION AND OUTREACH (CAEO) Québec is a charitable, grassroots, all volunteer-run organisation founded in 1976 originally operating under the name of Gay Line. From 1976-2012, Gay Line served as a listening line for people to find queer and trans resources, connection, and support when they had no other way of doing so. CAEO’s current flagship program, SILK, that started in 2008, delivers free educational workshops across English-language schools, organisations and community groups in the Montreal/Tiohtià:ke area to promote better understanding of sexual orientation, gender identity, diversity, and inclusion, and to help create safer spaces for queer and trans youth. Through all of our programming, past and present, our mission is to combat homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, queerphobia, intersexism and heterosexism. We strive for equal status and equal opportunity within our society and aim to eliminate mere tolerance and achieve real acceptance.
