AGM 2024: Retro Tunes & Reels

The Powerline Connector Adaptive Trail Project is a key trail realignment and accessibility initiative designed to protect wildlife corridors while enhancing community recreation in the Bow Valley. The Powerline Connector will be a 3.5 km multi-use trail replacing the current section of Loki Trail that crosses the Tipple Across Valley Wildlife Corridor. The new trail will run adjacent to the existing powerline right-of-way, linking Highline Trail (West) with the haul road near the Loki trailhead. This alignment will create a safe, sanctioned route while protecting important wildlife movement areas. Built to aMTB standards, the trail will be one of the few truly accessible singletrack trails in Canmore, suitable for adaptive riders, families, beginners, and intermediate riders. Once complete, the project will deliver a net gain of more than 4:1 in new trail versus decommissioned sections, significantly improving connectivity and adding long-term value to the Bow Valley trail network. The Powerline Connector Adaptive Trail Project is a key trail realignment and accessibility initiative designed to protect wildlife corridors while enhancing community recreation in the Bow Valley.The Powerline Connector will be a 3.5 km multi-use trail replacing the current section of Loki Trail that crosses the Tipple Across Valley Wildlife Corridor. The new trail will run adjacent to the existing powerline right-of-way, linking Highline Trail (West) with the haul road near the Loki trailhead. This alignment will create a safe, sanctioned route while protecting important wildlife movement areas.Built to aMTB standards, the trail will be one of the few truly accessible singletrack trails in Canmore, suitable for adaptive riders, families, beginners, and intermediate riders. The project will introduce an interpretive trail and an inclusive skills area designed for kids and families to learn, explore, and build confidence on bikes.
