See you at the performance.&nbsp; - Concordia University Department of Dance Crossing space; Holding worlds: Four choreographic proposalsA show featuring the second year Contemporary Dance cohort What kind of worlds are we helping to imagine and enact? This second-year, studio and seminar course addressed dramaturgy as a collective, project-based practice in contemporary dance and related fields. Through embodied research, theoretical approaches, and choreographic experimentation, students explored dramaturgy as the study of actions, materials, translations, and relations in performance. Emphasis was placed on articulating the internal logic of the work while situating it within broader cultural and socio-political contexts brought by the group members. Through individual and group processes, students develop dramaturgical strategies culminating in collaborative performance projects that engage questions of authorship, collectivity, and ethical decision-making. They bring together themes of sweat, structure, rage, community, disgust, and freedom. The result of a year&rsquo;s worth of research and exploration, this diverse collection of individual manifestos contemplates labor, rage, and rest as ways of moving with, through and alongside broader societal concerns. Sondering Through Sensing&nbsp;A work collectively created by its performers and built from the intelligence of many bodies moving as one. Drawing on practices of clustering, swarming and scoring, the piece asks &mdash; how a group listens, scatters, forms and reforms. The dancers&#39; prompts, impulses, and movements have been cut up, shuffled, and woven together, forming an architecture of the in-between: between self and group, pattern and impulse, falling and becoming. The Department of Theatre Presents: Staged Reading SeriesDirected by Emma Tibaldo Text 1: Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. by Alice Birch A wildly experimental and inventive feminist play that does not behave. The play explores the deconstruction of patriarchal power, language, and societal roles through fragmented, surreal vignettes. It acts as a &quot;call-to-arms&quot; to reject conformity, interrogation of misogynistic norms, and challenges how women are defined. Content Advisory: This play has graphic language and speaks of violence against women and rape.
