Decentralised Energy Canada

Decentralised Energy Canada promotes energy sovereignty by advancing decentralized energy systems. They connect industry players, showcase innovations, and foster partnerships to create sustainable, resilient energy solutions for a stable future.

Energy Sovereignty for Global Stability Canada's only annual industry event dedicated to decentralised energy. Connecting industry players to new business and partnership opportunities and showcasing successful innovations that demonstrate the sector’s ability to transition to a sustainable, resilient and affordable energy future. This year’s theme, Energy Sovereignty for Global Stability acknowledges that global conflicts are often shaped by competition over critical energy resources. DEF2026 explores a future in which nations strengthen their energy sovereignty by leveraging local resources while fostering international trade relationships focused on enabling technologies rather than fuel dependence. Advancements in decentralised energy systems—such as microgrids, solar, geothermal, advanced controls, automation, and security—allow communities to produce more of their own energy while maintaining strategic partnerships through the exchange of durable technologies that support long-term infrastructure. Unlike reliance on imported fuels, these technologies create resilient energy systems while reducing geopolitical vulnerabilities. Energy sovereignty supports national security and climate resilience. At the same time, emerging innovations—such as quantum communication and next-generation cybersecurity—are redefining how energy systems and critical infrastructure are protected from evolving threats. Join us to explore how distributed energy systems, resilient infrastructure, and reimagined global trade relationships can strengthen energy sovereignty and contribute to greater geopolitical stability.
