The Big Little Run: 24 Hours for ChildcareHow many laps can the Sunshine Coast clock in 24 hours? Join us at the Elphinstone Secondary Track for a high-energy community challenge! Whether you&rsquo;re a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or a family with a stroller, we want you on the track to help us raise funds to support an essential Plaground Accessibility upgrade at Esprit Daycare. The Challenge: Your Run, Your Way<ul data-path-to-node="4" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Drop-in Anytime: We&rsquo;re moving from 12 PM Saturday, April 25th straight through to 12 PM Sunday, April 26th.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Set Your Own Target: Do 1 lap, 10 laps, or 100.&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">The &quot;Big&quot; Goal: While the community laps add up, Esprit parent, Tom, will be attempting to run the full 24 hours to hit his goal of 200km!</li></ul>Why We&rsquo;re RunningWe are raising funds for an essential playground upgrade at Esprit Daycare and advocating for more affordable, accessible childcare on the Coast. ESPRIT turns 35 this year!&nbsp; And... we are asking for your help to keep ESPRIT going for another 35 years! Why now? It&#39;s been an especially tough few years for daycares, with funding deficits leading daycares to shrink or close entirely.&nbsp; So far, thanks to generous donors, creativity, and thousands of volunteer hours, ESPRIT has managed to stretch the 10aDay funding, so we can stay in the program and avoid having to ask families to pay significantly more for the same care each month.&nbsp; The reality, though, is that the 10aDay program only works through the generous support of donors.&nbsp; If ESPRIT closes, the lower Sunshine Coast would lose more than half of its childcare spaces for children under 30 months.&nbsp; Help support low-cost, high-quality care for coast kids Every month is a struggle to balance the books and keep ESPRIT operating with the high standards of care children and families deserve. The ESPRIT community has rallied around time and again to keep this vital centre open and affordable. But we&#39;re not out of the woods.&nbsp; Leave a legacy: Donate now to help keep ESPRIT open and costs manageable for local families on the coast. We would love to find 35 coasters who can donate: $35,000$3,500$350$35. With your support, we can establish an endowment fund for ESPRIT that will help carry it through to the next generation and beyond. Your gift supports safe, accessible, low-cost daycare for families at the longest-running non-profit childcare centre on the Sunshine Coast. At ESPRIT, all children have access to playful learning spaces to explore, create, and grow. Our amazing staff offers experienced, compassionate care for children with additional support needs. Why ESPRIT? ESPRIT opened in 1991 as an innovative childcare centre providing care for the babies of teen parents finishing high school.&nbsp; ESPRIT remains committed to compassionate, non-judgmental, quality care for all. ESPRIT is one of the few centres on the coast staffed by educators qualified to care for children with additional support needs. ESPRIT actively encourages staff to pursue additional Early Childhood Educator training and provides financial support and assistance with grant applications through WorkforceBC. ESPRIT has carefully developed a fantastic team of engaged, experienced, and caring professionals and has gone from having just one certified ECE a few years ago to almost 100% ECE certification.&nbsp; ESPRIT is also an important learning centre on the coast, in partnership with UBC and the Early Childhood Pedagogy Network (ECPN).&nbsp; At ESPRIT, every child is valued and nurtured for who they are. Your support helps us offer caring, affordable early education so parents can work with peace of mind and children can build confidence, friendships, and a love of learning.
