FFCF is an organization that provides free Cataract eye surgeries and Eye Glasses for underprivileged people in Urban + Rural slums. India has the world's HIGHEST blind population - of which almost half is preventable.Our goal is to help break the cycle of poverty - and to keep people from entering it, too.Your generosity will make a lasting impact on these people's lives. Our goal for this year is to raise enough funds for 2100+ surgeries, beating last year's figure of 1600+ free surgeries!We believe in Giving Back to India. It is about applying the concept of Das-Vant (10%), an ancient practice in many cultures and religions of always giving at least 10% of your income towards charity and social work. Our biggest projects are Gift of Sight (providing free cataract eye surgeries) and Gift of Vision (free eyeglasses), but we also consider our other projects very important. Gift of Skill provides struggling young women with a free course in tailoring, which helps them become self-sustaining, earning individuals. Gift of Support provides free food and necessities to families in times of need (Covid-19 shutdowns started this project). Our newest and biggest pilot project is building a line of FREE Eyecare Hospitals in the most poverty-dense areas of India.
