Hungry Zine Association fosters community through food, gardening, and creativity. We host events that connect individuals, share knowledge, and promote sustainable practices, aiming to cultivate a supportive environment for all.

In partnership with <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.zenaris.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Zenari&rsquo;s Little Italy</a>, Hungry Zine invites you to Seeds and Soil, our first community fundraiser event. Join us on Wednesday April 22 from 6-8pm at <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.zocalo.ca/" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Zocalo</a> (10826 95 ST Edmonton, AB) for food, connection and gardening inspiration!Beat the April greys in the gorgeous Zocalo greenhouse!&nbsp; The Program:&nbsp;<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Food and conversation: enjoy a light picnic-box style dinner prepared by chef Chef Filliep Lament.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">A short talk on gardening tips by Clara Qualizza - Owner and Chief Soil Tender of <a fr-original-style="" href="http://meadowandthicket.ca." rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Meadow &amp; Thicket Farm Flowers</a>. Clara grows unique and exquisite cut flowers for blossom lovers on her small farm near Wildwood, Alberta. &nbsp;meadowandthicket.ca.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Garden design doodling session:&nbsp;We&rsquo;ll provide you with some materials to do some dreaming and designing of your gardens. You&#39;ll have a chance to share gardening knowledge with your fellow community members, and we&rsquo;ll crowd-source and compile your tips to build a community pamphlet (that will be shared with you later).</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">&nbsp;Silent auction and other fundraising activities!</li></ul>Notes on Ticket PriceTickets are $45 and include a picnic box dinner and a non-alocholic beverage. Coffee, tea, and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase from the in-store cafe run by Zenari&rsquo;s Little Italy.&nbsp; Half of the ticket price will cover event and food costs, and the remainder of proceeds will go to our <a fr-original-style="" href="https://www.zeffy.com/en-CA/donation-form/seeds-and-soil-hungry-zine-2026-fundraising-campaign" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">fundraising campaign</a>.&nbsp; You will have an option to make an additional donation to Hungry Zine when you pay. There will also be a prompt to make an optional contribution to the online fundraising platform we are using - Zeffy - to cover their administrative fees. These are both optional, please do not feel pressured to give more than the ticket price, unless you would like to!
