Thanks to your support for the MFC’s Bursary Fund, children and youth who would otherwise still be on a waiting list in the public sector now have access to essential complementary educational and support services for communication and learning differences. The MFC has seen an increased demand for services and financial aid as a result of COVID-19. Throughout the pandemic, our services have continued to help with crucial interventions by providing continuity and structure, opportunities for socializing, and tools that help students navigate their education, their relationships, and their potential for lifelong success. Your donation truly makes a difference in a child’s life, but don’t let us tell you; read what the members of our MFC community are saying: Students’ voices “[My therapist] has helped me to speak more, write more, listen more and work harder at school... I feel more confident. I am much happier at school... I am able to make friends because the kids can now understand me when I speak.” “Mom, I feel like I found my people. I feel like I belong.” “The MFC is like the only place I ever felt like I could be myself.” Parents’ voices “My family would not have been able to continue therapy without the bursary program. Because of this support, my youngest child has finally started to read on his own! […] I am incredibly grateful to the team at the Montreal Fluency Centre and their bursary program for helping my son... To its donors- thank you for your support - it has made a difference to our whole family.” SOME FACTS 28.5% OF MONTREAL KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS ARE VULNERABLE IN AT LEAST ONE DEVELOPMENTAL DOMAIN 16.3% OF MONTREAL YOUTH DROP OUT BEFORE GRADUATING 84% OF QUÉBEC ELEMENTARY STUDENTS LIVING IN THE MOST UNDERPRIVILGED CONDITIONS ARE IN MONTREAL 2021 Source: reseaureussitemontreal.caLast year, the Montreal Fluency Centre worked with over 500 families.
