The Ontario Association of Children's Aid Societies advocates for the well-being of children and youth in care, promoting their rights and supporting their transition to independence through community engagement and policy influence.

The YouthCAN conference is co-created and co-facilitated by youth and celebrates youth connection, belonging and empowerment. It combines art-based activities and workshops with youth advocacy opportunities and social/fun events such as a talent/variety show, dance and outdoor activities. YouthCAN Conference 2026

Child and Youth In Care Day 2026: Rising in Strength and Story - at Queen&#39;s Park This experience will provide a meaningful opportunity for youth to be recognized at Queen&rsquo;s Park, observe how discussions unfold within the Legislative Assembly, and share their perspectives on what Rising in Strength and Story means to them&mdash;particularly in the context of transition planning beginning at age 13.The day will include attending Question Period, followed by a reception where participants will hear directly from the YPAC team about Rising in Strength and Story and engage in a Q&amp;A. Youth will also complete postcards to be shared with the Minister after the event, and take part in an affirmation activity reflecting on what it means to be &ldquo;Rising in Strength and Story. Light refreshments will be provided. All security protocols for Queen&#39;s Park will be followed.
