The connector can be set on the PVC pipe and the feedline drops to the ground through the pipe. OARC Workshop - 2-Meter Roll-up J-Pole Antenna Build

Join us for the OARC Soldering Skills workshop (Winter 2026)! Three, fun, hands-on sessions where you will develop soldering skills for antenna and coax cable assembly. &nbsp;It is designed to complement the upcoming antenna-building workshop(s).<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;" type="disc"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Session 1 (29 March):&nbsp;Essential tools and supplies needed for antenna and connector work with an emphasis on how much you should spend on kit.*</li></ul>* You are expected to have your own soldering iron and basic tools for this workshop and the first session will provide you with some guidance. You have a month between Sessions 1 and 2 to give you time to buy or borrow the necessary equipment. OARC - Workshop - Soldering Skills (Winter 2026)

Join us for our Soldering Skills &amp; Kit-Building Workshop - a series of fun, hands-on sessions over 4-5 weeks where you&rsquo;ll learn soldering skills, and build real projects alongside fellow members! &nbsp; This workshop is exclusive to members of the Ottawa Amateur Radio Club. In the first workshop session, participants will learn about all the tools and consumables that they will need to purchase. &nbsp;In the next 3-4 sessions, participants will learn through hands-on activities to solder and de-solder wires, thru-hole components and surface-mount devices (SMD). &nbsp;They will also build at least one simple kit. &nbsp;By the end of this workshop, participants will have the confidence to successfully build electronic kits and homebrew projects. The $25 fee helps cover materials, supplies, and refreshments so we can keep offering great learning events like this. Perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to sharpen their skills! Some Club tools can be made available if you don&#39;t have your own.

If you get 80% or more (Basic with Honours), you&rsquo;ll have greater operating privileges.
