Canada’s National Day of Truth and Reconciliation carries a deep intercultural understanding. It is a day where Canadians acknowledge and honour Indigenous People, Residential School Survivors, their families, their communities and the First Nations children and youth whom have never returned home. It is a day that also asks each of us as Canadians, neighbours, friends, organizations and community leaders to reflect on what meaningful reconciliation truly looks like through an Indigenous lens, shared in a kind way and what it means to stand united in showing support for the First Peoples’ of Canada.
