Shelter House

Shelter House empowers individuals experiencing homelessness through support services, advocacy, and community engagement, fostering resilience and dignity while promoting social justice and compassion for marginalized populations.

An evening of inspiration, tenacity, and (un)learning in support of Shelter House.&nbsp; Light in the Darkness&nbsp;Art Show&nbsp;(free admission) 5:30pm - 7:00pm All artwork created by current and past residents of our local encampments and shelter system. Their work will be available to purchase with all proceeds going back to the artist. Love Thy Neighbour&nbsp;Talk with Author &amp; Activist Maggie Helwig&nbsp;($25 admission)&nbsp;7:00pm - 8:30pmMaggie is a long-time social justice activist and author of 15 books, including Encampment: Resistance, Grace, and an Unhoused Community, which was awarded the 2025 Toronto Book Award and most recently, Instructions for the End of the World Homilies of Comfort and Resistance.&nbsp;This talk aims to deconstruct myths surrounding systemically marginalized individuals and to shine light on the power of love, hope and&nbsp; radical compassion.&nbsp; ** PWUC options available! ** Contact: champagne.thomson@shelterhouse.on.ca&nbsp;
