On Friday, March 20, 2026, Streams Community Hub lost a beloved member of our family. Kim Harcourt Roman—arts educator, neighbour, friend, and the heart of our Classroom C—passed away, leaving behind a legacy of patience, creativity, and love that touched every child and adult who learned alongside her.Kim wasn't just an instructor at Streams. She was family.She lived across the street from the Hub and watched this space transform from nothing into a thriving home for young creatives. At one of our staff and volunteer appreciation events, Kim stood up with tears in her eyes and said that Streams was the best thing to happen in Shelburne. She was so proud to be part of what we were building together—and we were honoured to have her.Kim had a gift. She was patient with every student, whether they were five or fifty. She passed on her knowledge with grace and encouragement, making everyone feel capable and seen. Her classroom was a place of discovery, growth, and joy.In her honour, we are renaming Classroom C—the space where she taught, created, and inspired—The Kim Roman Studio.At Kim's request, her loving husband Ed has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Streams Community Hub.
