Suicide Prevention Resource Centre

The Suicide Prevention Resource Centre empowers communities to prevent suicide through education, training, and support. They foster open conversations, promote mental health awareness, and provide resources to create safe environments for all.

Join You Be Youth in conjunction with Family Ed for a fun and creative 3-day camp for ages 9&ndash;13 that combines arts and crafts with emotional wellness activities. &nbsp;Campers will create projects such as string art, clay creations, sewing, soaps, and self-care items while exploring topics like feelings, thoughts, healthy relationships, boundaries, and stress management.&nbsp; Through hands-on activities and group discussions, participants will build confidence, develop coping skills, and create their own emotional toolbox as well as crafts to take home. Snacks, beverages and lunch will be provided. The last day will be a pizza party! Each day starts at 10:00am and ends at 3:00pm.

My Heart & Art Day Camp: 3-Day

Join our 1-day Mental Health First Aid workshop to learn how to recognize signs of distress, start safe conversations, and offer practical support until professional help is available. MHFA Essentials focuses on core knowledge and practical skills. Designed to be accessible and applicable across many settings, Essentials offers a strong foundation in MHFA principles without formal assessment or certification&mdash;making it an ideal option for individuals, teams, or communities seeking meaningful, time-efficient training. The practical skills of MHFA help you develop the confidence and peace of mind knowing you can support those around you, and your ability to self-care and prioritize your well-being while supporting others. By registering, you&rsquo;ll gain concrete tools, guided practice, and resources to better support yourself, your loved ones, and your community.

Participants will explore practical approaches to leading meaningful and inclusive group experiences across a variety of settings. Through interactive discussions, reflection, and hands-on activities, attendees will deepen their understanding of group dynamics, leadership styles, trauma-informed practice, co-facilitation, and effective strategies for responding to challenging behaviours with confidence and compassion.&nbsp; This workshop is designed to support facilitators in creating safe, welcoming, and purposeful spaces where participants can connect and thrive.

Each step opens space for honest conversations about suicide and mental well-being. Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) is a two-day accredited workshop designed to increase risk recognition and intervention skill levels of teachers, outreach workers, health workers, social workers, human resources personnel, etc. ASIST is an intensive, interactive and practice-based course designed to provide intervention skills to prevent the immediate risk of suicide. ASIST is the most widely used, acclaimed and researched suicide intervention training workshop in the world.
