Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) &mdash; a type of genomic test that reads the genetic fingerprint of a tumour &mdash; can identify targeted therapies and clinical trial eligibility that standard treatment alone would miss. Approximately 25&ndash;30% of pancreatic cancer patients have actionable mutations that could open doors to treatments specifically matched to their cancer. The problem: this test costs $5,000 out of pocket. There is no provincial coverage in Atlantic Canada. And with pancreatic cancer&#39;s short survival windows, waiting isn&#39;t an option. The Heather Cutler Foundation&#39;s Atlantic Biomarker Access Program removes that barrier. Every dollar raised through this campaign goes directly to funding NGS testing for pancreatic cancer patients in Atlantic Canada who cannot afford the cost &mdash; giving them access to precision medicine that could extend their life or qualify them for a clinical trial they would otherwise never have known about.$5,000 funds one patient&#39;s test.
