Town of Minto

LXCL:The Town of Minto is located on the north-western boundary of Wellington County and is comprised of the former Towns of Harriston, Palmerston, and Minto Township. We are a family-friendly destination that hosts events and activities year-round. Enjoy our historic downtowns, which feature live theatre, a cinema, galleries, a railway museum, shopping and restaurants. Escape from the chaos of daily city life and discover why Minto is where your family belongs!

The Town of Minto, Minto Chamber, Minto's Diversity, Equity, Inclusion Committee, Minto Farmers' Market, and Downtown Committees invite new residents to Minto to the Meet Your Neighbours Welcome Day (formerly the annual Newcomers’ Welcome Reception). If you have recently moved to the area, here is an opportunity to learn more about your community, ask questions, and receive a welcome bag full of goodies donated by local merchants and community organizations. Attendees will also receive free Market Bucks to spend at the Minto Farmers' Market, which will be hosted at the same time and location as this event. There will also be snacks. People are welcome to bring their own lawn chairs and picnic blankets. There will also be outdoor games and live music by Norwell District Secondary Student, Ivy Chung.

September 12th, 2026

9 am - 12 pm

Palmerston Railway Heritage Museum, 168 William St., Palmerston

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: September 4th at 12 p.m. Please register all guests who will be in attendance. For more information, feel free to contact erin@town.minto.on.ca *All residents of Minto are welcome to attend without registration to meet their neighbours (but will not receive a welcome bag, market bucks, or snacks).
