Why the Justice Run?

Legal information and legal services can often feel confusing, intimidating or difficult to access. The Justice Run is about changing that.

We want to bring together students, professionals, organizations, businesses and community members to:

Raise awareness
Support access-to-justice initiatives
Promote legal literacy
Connect people with community resources
Encourage meaningful conversations around justice

You do not need to study law or work in the legal field to participate.

Access to justice affects everyone.

Community Celebration

After the run and walk, the event continues at Central Commons Park in University District.

The Justice Run Community Celebration is expected to include:

Speakers
Sponsor and community booths
Activities
Giveaways
Prize announcements
Networking opportunities
Fundraising incentives
Entertainment
Community organizations

The celebration is designed to bring participants, supporters, partners and the wider Calgary community together after the race.

Why Persons Day?

On October 18, 1929, women were legally recognized as "persons" under the law. Persons Day marks an important moment in Canadian legal history and represents the impact that can come from challenging barriers and pushing institutions forward.

Justice Run Route

The route shown above is the proposed Justice Run course and remains subject to final City of Calgary permitting and approval.

Minor changes may be made for safety, permitting or operational reasons.

The finish area is expected to include:

Medal distribution
Hydration
Photo opportunities
Recovery elements
Smaller activities and activations

The main Justice Run Community Celebration will take place at Central Commons Park in University District, located only a few blocks from the proposed finish area.

A complete Participant Guide will be released approximately two weeks before the event with final race-day information.

Join the Justice Run. One community. One cause.

Run for awareness. Walk for change. Move justice forward.

Route is preliminary and subject to final City approval. Prize categories, eligibility and availability may change. The $5,000 student scholarship is contingent on the Justice Run reaching its $50,000 fundraising goal.
