Summer Sports Series - Volleyball @ Sunset Beach

Join Vancouver Queer Irish for our 5th Annual Birthday Party &mdash; a special summer BBQ at Numbers Cabaret on Friday, June 26th at 6:00pm, celebrating five years of community, connection, and queer joy. This event marks the fifth anniversary of the very first VQI gathering, which took place during the weekend of Dublin Pride in 2021. What began as a small meetup has grown into an incredible community of friends, newcomers, allies, and chosen family here in Vancouver. We&rsquo;ll be celebrating with an evening of food &nbsp;and good company in one of the city&rsquo;s older queer establishments. Food will be provided by A Loving Spoonful, a local non-profit in Vancouver, supporting our community since 1989.

Kickoff VQI&#39;s Summer Sports Series with us and join us for a guided sunset kayak tour from Jericho Beach on June 17th at 7.30pm.&nbsp; Enjoy stunning mountain views, and fantastic views of the Vancouver skyline, all the while the sky turns orange and the sun sets right into the sea. This event is initially open to 2026 - 2027 members only. VQI&#39;s Summer Sports Series continues with&nbsp;Paddle Boarding at Jericho Beach on August 20th at 5.30pm. Meet us at Jericho Beach at 5:30pm, we plan to hit the water at 6pm!&nbsp;SUP Rental tickets are available and limited so sign up quick or bring your own board or just come to the beach for the vibes for free. Summer Sports Series - Paddle Boarding

Join VQI for a full day of lakeside fun, games, and community! The bus will depart from Vancouver&rsquo;s West End at 9:00am and return to Vancouver by approximately 7:45pm. Your ticket includes a light breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack. VQI will also provide water throughout the day. We&#39;ll spend the morning relaxing by the lake before kicking off an afternoon sports day featuring plenty of fun and friendly competition. Please bring: swimwear, a towel, sunscreen, floaties (if you&#39;d like them), and anything else you&#39;ll need for a day at the lake.
