This activity is open to everyone! Join us for a visit to the Huron Traditional Site, &ldquo;Onho&uuml;a Chetek8e,&rdquo;&nbsp;in Wendake! This is a unique and enriching experience where you&rsquo;ll step back in time and discover the history of this land, going back hundreds&nbsp;of years, and learn how the Wendat people continue to&nbsp;preserve their traditions, culture, and way of life today. During this guided tour, you&rsquo;ll explore meaningful sites and discover fascinating traditional practices that are still important today. You&rsquo;ll visit the&nbsp;Long House, the traditional Wendat dwelling,&nbsp;and learn about daily life, social organization, and customs of the Wendat Nation. You&rsquo;ll also see the smokehouse and fish and meat dryer, where traditional food preservation methods and survival skills will be explained. The visit continues with the sweat lodge, where you&rsquo;ll learn about traditional purification practices used for spiritual and physical well-being. We&rsquo;ll also stop at the giant teepee, where you&rsquo;ll get a glimpse of the diversity and richness of Indigenous Nations. You&rsquo;ll also discover traditional transportation methods, including how canoes and snowshoes are made and used&mdash;essential tools for life in different seasons and landscapes. The experience wraps up with a look at contemporary Wendat life in Wendake today, connecting past and present in a meaningful way. Spots are limited, so don&rsquo;t wait too long to reserve yours! It&rsquo;s a peaceful escape and a magical experience for all ages. Have your cameras ready (please, no flash), because they may land right on your shoulders or hands! 🗓&nbsp;Sunday, March 22⏰ 11:00 AM🚌 Transportation by bus will be provided from Jeffery Hale Pavilion (free parking available).To reserve your seat on the bus, a&nbsp;$5 deposit&nbsp;is required. The deposit will be&nbsp;fully refunded when you attend the activity. This simply helps us prevent no-shows and organize transportation efficiently. Bus reservations must be made at least 48 hours in advance, or until all spots are filled. Children aged 4 and under are not required to reserve transportation. We are happy to invite you once again to a&nbsp;Sugar Shack experience featuring traditional Qu&eacute;b&eacute;cois flavours, live folk music, and fun outdoor activities!VEQ will be covering a large portion of the ticket cost&nbsp;(we will cover $20 per adult, so instead of $54.25, you will pay $34.25) to make this experience affordable&nbsp;for everyone. A&nbsp;sugar shack&nbsp;(cabane &agrave; sucre&nbsp;in French) is a traditional&nbsp;maple syrup-producing cabin&nbsp;found in&nbsp;Qu&eacute;bec&nbsp;and other parts of eastern Canada. It is a place where people gather in late winter or early spring to enjoy a&nbsp;traditional meal&nbsp;and taste&nbsp;fresh maple syrup. Originally, sugar shacks were built near maple tree groves where maple sap was collected and boiled to produce&nbsp;maple syrup. Today, many sugar shacks operate as seasonal restaurants offering&nbsp;traditional Quebecois meals and entertainment.
