Rainbow Railroad is a Canadian charitable organization, that helps lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals escape violence and persecution in their home countries, so that your donations will create a maximum amount of impact for queer folks globally. Fundraising can continue into in the year, however our top winners will be decided on Friday June 27th!&nbsp; On Friday, June 27th, 2025 we encourage you to go out and run, walk or ride on anything that has wheels: bikes, skate boards, scooters, or roller blades/skates*. You could even push a stroller! Get creative and keep it accessible to you! You can connect with other participants (around the world!) by sharing a photo of yourself with the hashtag #GetREAL5K #RainbowRoad5K and great posts may be shared by Get REAL on social media. If that day doesn&#39;t work for you and your team, you are more than welcome to complete your 5K whenever you want!&nbsp; On June 27th, at noon, the organizing team will make note of our Top Fundraiser, Top Team, and most Spirited fundraiser! This will close the eligibility for prizing, however we still encourage folks to continue their fundraising efforts through the year!&nbsp; Our goal is to raise $30,000! What a great way to support a global mission without leaving your own neighbourhood! Using Zeffy, you can create a team or join one, and then simply invite friends, family, and colleagues to donate on your behalf. That&rsquo;s right! Our top fundraiser spot, and fundraising team, will not be resting on just your personal donations. We understand that we all have different amounts to give. With this platform, you can encourage your peers to show their support for this amazing cause! Final donations can be accepted until noon on June 27th, 2025 to be considered for prizes. Plus, it is all done virtually, so there is no limit to how far we can reach. Your donations and efforts to fundraise will help us reach more schools and students to share this education and tools so that kids in the 2SLGBTQ+ community will feel less alone and safer in their school.
