Textile Screen Printing Basics - Private Training

This 2-session course (8 to 11h) will take you through the basic concepts of textile screen printing. You'll leave with your explorations on fabric (quantity varies according to the complexity of the work desired), print area approx. 16x22 in. Materials included*.

Session 1 (2 to 3h)

Image preparation for printing. Color separation in Photoshop, Illustrator, by hand or a combination of these techniques. Addition of registration guides and export for printing. When preparing files, we also discuss the printing order of image layers according to the opacity of different colors. 

Session 2 (Full day 6 to 8 hrs)

Preparation of frames for printing, use of photosensitive emulsion. Introduction to installing textiles on the doubler. Preparation for printing, cutting and pinning fabrics. Color mixing and testing. Notions of register. 

The dates vary depending on the coordinator's availability, she will contact you once payment has been made to reserve the dates. 

The training can be followed individually or in pairs, the cost for one person, taxes included, $600, the cost for 2 people, taxes included, $850 ($425 per person). In the case of a duo, allow 2 to 3 additional hours for the total duration of the sessions. 

* Useful textile screen printing equipment as well as dyes and a variety of fabrics are at your disposal. If you would like to work with specific materials, please obtain them for the second session.
