Depuis plusieurs années maintenant, nous savons que le changement climatique est avéré, et que ses conséquences sur la vie humaine sont inévitables, voire irréversibles. De plus, l’état des connaissances scientifiques actuelles permet d’affirmer que l’influence humaine joue un rôle essentiel sur le système climatique, en amplifiant les changements constatés. Face à cela, certaines personnes développent un trouble appelé éco-anxiété (sentiment d’anxiété causé par les bouleversements climatiques et l’appréhension/l’anticipation de ces conséquences). Les approches en danse-thérapie peuvent être pertinentes pour accompagner les personnes et les organisations à mieux comprendre et s’adapter aux évènements en lien avec le changement climatique. Cet atelier, offert par Céline Verchère, offre aux professionnels de la danse et le mouvement les outils pour intervenir auprès des personnes souffrant de ce trouble. Il y aura une première partie théorique, pendant laquelle l’éco-anxiété et des courants d’éco-thérapie, seront définis, et l’impact de la danse-thérapie sera exploré. Ensuite, une partie expérientielle permettra de d’expérimenter directement comment utiliser la danse et le mouvement.

Comprendre l’éco-anxiété et l’aborder avec la danse-thérapie

For many years already, we’ve known that climate change is happening and that its consequences on human life are inevitable, if not irreversible. Moreover, the state of the current scientific knowledge allows to state that human influence plays an essential role in the climate system, amplifying what’s already happening. Confronted with this, some people develop a disorder known as eco-anxiety (a feeling of anxiety caused by climate change and the act of worrying and anticipating its consequences).  Dance therapy approaches can be relevant to help people and organizations better understand and adapt to the events caused by climate change. This workshop, offered by Céline Verchère, provides an overview of the tools that can be used by movement and dance professionals to facilitate interventions with those suffering from the disorder. There will be a first theoretical part, during which eco-anxiety and eco-therapies will be reviewed and the specific impact of dance therapy will be explored. Then, an experiential part will allow participants to experiment directly with dance and movement.
