LXCL:As a new member of BPCG, I wish to apply for a plot. I will volunteer to contribute five (5) volunteer hours to communal gardening tasks every membership year, in addition to maintaining my personal garden plot.

Each member needs to contributes five (5) volunteer hours to communal gardening tasks every membership year, in addition to maintaining their personal garden plot. Alternatively, members may buy out their yearly volunteer hours at a rate of $75.00 + plot rental of $55 for new members = $130.00.

New BPCG members are invited to pay for their plots from April 10, 2026. New members have a limited time (10 days until the 22nd)&nbsp;to pay before we allow someone else on the wait list to apply. &nbsp;*NB* If you wish to pay by Interac you can do so via Zeffy or by cheque for 55$ (I will volunteer) or 130$ (I will buy my 5 nours of volunteering) made out to Brewer Park Community Garden, and drop it at 184 Hopewell Ave, Ottawa. Payment via Zeffy is strongly encourage to avoid delays and errors.&nbsp;You do not need to add any donations, unless you wish to give one to Zeffy.

Member Roles and Responsibilities All gardeners commit to using only organic gardening practices in their plot. If you&rsquo;re not sure how to do so, please see <a fr-original-style="" href="http://justfood.ca/cgnresources" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Just Food Resources</a>.&nbsp; Gardeners must inform the Membership Coordinator at <a fr-original-style="" href="mailto:membership@brewergarden.ca" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;">membership@brewergarden.ca</a> of any changes in their contact information.&nbsp; No seeds or produce or any product of your plot may be sold for profit. Cannabis may not be grown in any community garden. Gardens are on public land, and cannabis increases the risk of vandalism and the safety of all gardeners.&nbsp; Gardeners are responsible for ensuring their plot is weeded by the May long weekend (May 18, 2026) and planted by May 31. Beds not planted by June 8 may be reassigned.&nbsp; Gardeners must ensure that their plot is used and maintained regularly throughout the growing season. This includes removing weeds and harvesting your veggies. Fallen and rotting produce attracts unwanted pests!&nbsp; Holders of plots that are visibly neglected&nbsp;will be contacted and given two weeks notice to clean up their plots, after which time the plot will be reassigned to another applicant, and any viable produce collected by our Shared plots team.&nbsp; Before weeding, watering, planting, or harvesting another member&rsquo;s plot, gardeners must obtain the express written permission of the plot holder.&nbsp;Fall cleanup: Please remove all plant matter, vegetables, netting, supports, etc. by mid-November.&nbsp; Gardeners who fail to clean their plot&nbsp;in the fall will not be allowed to renew their membership for the following growing season. Should they wish to rejoin the garden, they will have to apply as a new member. Each member MUST contributes five (5) volunteer hours to communal gardening tasks every membership year, in addition to maintaining their personal garden plot per the guidelines above. Alternatively, members may buy out their volunteer hours at a rate of $15.00/hour to the maximum of $75.00. By joining the BPCG and getting a&nbsp;membership, you agree to abide by the above rules.
