Waterloo Temple inauguration & Thaipoosam festival

It is a pleasure to announce the inauguration of a South Indian dravidan custom Hindu temple in the Region of Waterloo. This will tremendously benefit the South Indian and Sri Lankan community within the region as well as others from Guelph-Wellington area.

Sri Murugan Temple of Waterloo Region is a federally registered non-profit organisation.  An administrative structure has been put in place along with bylaws.  A short and long term vision is in the drawing board.  Events and programs will be taking place in the near future.

The region's first Vel and Pilliyar idol has been donated to the community.  Both have arrived from Jaffna, Sri Lanka.  It will be inaugurated to the public during a colourful ceremony along with cultural programs.

Registration will close on Wednesday, January 24th.
