Join us for a very special opening night! We'll start with a reception where you can say hi to your favourite trans cuties, followed by the Canadian Premiere of Henry's new film, "Dog Movie". Henry will be in attendance, ready to answer all your burning questions after the screening. Film synopsis: What happens when two Transdykes get sick of non-transsexual’s uninformed representation of their sexualities and their lives? They grab their 8 millimetre home video camera, their last 200 bucks, and come up with an uncompromising in-your-face flick about their shitty relationships with gay men and their unabashed attraction to other transsexual women.

In The Garden of Earthly Delights explores the connection between bodies and spaces - the ways in which we inhabit, exhibit, through the experience of sensations and inhibitions. Inspired by the name of the Bosch painting, the aim is to celebrate the relationships that are enabled through the fostering of community; this extends not only to those we call friends, muses, lovers but also to our connection with the Earth and all that it provides.

From the dreamlike merging of bodies on celluloid film to an opera on trans liberation, our screening of experimental filmmaking celebrates artists working outside the norms of traditional filmmaking.

In this heartwarming ensemble comedy, Mary’s adoptive gay mother’s last dying wish was to reunite their all-queer volleyball team. Even with the challenges that she is faced with, including her own personal affairs, and financial troubles, Mary tries to fulfil the wish. She must convince her disjointed chosen family to join the one day volleyball league, with hopes of winning the cash grand prize to pay for a proper funeral for Mary’s mother.

Bold and provocative, this programme is an homage to the enduring relationship between queerness and transgressive art. Horror, filth and bad taste abound in a late night screening not for the faint of heart.

While the rest of our festival focuses on the present and future of trans cinema, our closing screening pays homage to the Quebecois trans pioneers without whom none of this would be possible. This event will take you on a journey across the history of trans cinema in the province, followed by a Q&A with the featured artists.
