Our Colourful Yoga is turning one year old in June. We are celebrating our existence and the work we have done over the past year.&nbsp;Some events we conducted over the past 12 months include:<ul><li>Weekly yoga and meditation classes with 25 BIPOC and/or LGBTQ+ teachers</li><li>Educational and awareness-building conversations on yoga, wellness and social justice</li><li>Weekly wellness sessions with Head and Hands, a non-profit organization that works to give youth the tools they need for their mental and physical well-being&nbsp;</li><li>Weekly classes for the Women&rsquo;s Studies Student Association at Concordia University&nbsp;</li><li>Movement sessions and awareness-building conversations &ndash; led by BIPOC and LGBTQ+ teachers &ndash; at the 2021 IUCN Global Youth Summit&nbsp;</li></ul>We are a non-profit organization that depends on public and private support to sustain our organization. Our board and administration team members (currently 8 members) log close to 200 voluntary hours a month to keep our organization running.&nbsp; We are here to promote diversity, equity and accessibility &ndash; starting with the yoga communities in Tiohti&agrave;:ke / Montr&eacute;al. Within a year, we have grown as leaders and we continue to create brave spaces for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ teachers and practitioners of yoga and meditation.&nbsp; We are here to stay and are growing steadily as a community. We have over 1,500 followers on our social media and over 150 supporters / members who support our yoga classes and service offerings. We are here to learn and grow our community&#39;s understanding of what it means to be at the intersection of self-care, social justice and wellness.&nbsp; We would like to continue to organize free and donation-based events to allow our communities to heal, learn and to unlearn together. We are here to support our communities to grow in understanding, kindness, strength and adaptability. Your support can make a world of a difference in our ability to continue to do so. June 13 Comm(UNITY) Outdoor Yoga with Asami Come breathe and move with OCY community. The practice is here to help you feel connected to the nature and people around you. Come as you are. You are celebrating your existence, as we continue to grow our community together through honouring the lineages of Yoga. No experience needed.
