As brothers and family, we have seen firsthand how important mental health is, just like physical health. We're stepping up to make a difference by raising funds and awareness for mental health. We believe that with the support of our friends and family, we can really make an impact.
This year, we're once again raising funds for the Canadian Mental Health Association, Vancouver-Fraser (CMHA-VF) Branch. The money will support their Peer Navigator Program, which helps people navigate various support systems covering health, housing, finances, legal issues, and more. What makes this program special is that the Peer Navigators themselves have lived through mental health or substance use challenges. Some were even past participants in the program. Because of their experiences, they understand the difficulties of seeking help, accessing support systems, and breaking down barriers. This year the program is expanding to the City of Burnaby. This expansion means that individuals residing in Burnaby will have access to these crucial services. By supporting this initiative, you're helping sustain and grow the Peer Navigator Program, making a tangible difference in the lives of those who need it most.
The funds will also contribute to supporting CMHA-VF's youth and children's programs, notably Here4Peers and UROK. These initiatives within CMHA, Vancouver-Fraser focus on aiding children and young individuals impacted by mental illness. They aim to empower them to assume leadership roles in combating stigma and raising awareness about the mental health issues confronting youth.
