Call for Artists – Festival of New Dance 2023 Neighbourhood Dance Works is seeking applications for its 32nd Festival of New Dance, taking place October 2nd-8th, 2023 in St. John’s, NL. We are looking for main stage performances, site-specific events, workshops, forums, film screenings, art exhibitions, and more that exist in or adjacent to new/contemporary dance. We understand contemporary dance not as a singular dance genre, but as all body or movement-centered work that reflects the current and diverse practices of our local, regional and national community.  To apply, please fill out the Google Form by FEB 24TH, 2023. Audio or video submissions that answer the same questions will also be accepted. We are interested in hearing about the projects and practices that excite you and hope to begin a relationship and dialogue with you through this process. There is a $20 application fee. Please contact us if this is a barrier for you at info@neighbourhooddanceworks.com. The application fees go towards the administrative costs of organizing and reviewing digital applications, communicating with artists throughout the process, and engaging programming committee members. Festival programming decisions are made by the Artistic Director and Artistic Associate in conversation with the programming committee. Decisions are based on an overall curatorial vision that includes consideration of: the themes and aesthetics of the pieces - how they fit with each other and with NDW’s mandate; audience feedback; budgetary and logistical constraints; and coordination with presenting partners.  Applicants will be notified of the results in March and April, 2023.  About Neighbourhood Dance Works  Neighbourhood Dance Works (NDW) is Newfoundland and Labrador’s sole dance presenter.
