WHY IT EXISTS:Do you sometimes feel tired, discouraged or powerless in the face of a constant stream of bad news?Do you find it difficult to exchange ideas respectfully with people with whom you disagree? And if so, how can we contribute to change, without burning ourselves out? The 2023 Edelman survey reveals that out of 28 countries and 32,000 respondents, only 30% would help someone they disagreed with, and only 20% would work with them or even live in the same neighbourhood.  This workshop aims to replace polarization with inclusive communication, one person at a time - because collective change starts at an individual level. This workshop will help you recognize the influence of your unconscious thoughts and biology on our ideas and behaviors; counter emotional burnout; welcome and manage your emotions - and recognize these same dynamics in those around you, so you can be less judgmental and more empathetic.</li><li>Develop your digital literacy and critical thinking: understand the media landscape, and how the tone and posture adopted by our media sources influence our ability to discuss and consider ideas that differ from our own. </li></ol>Please invite a friend who sees things differently from you, so that you can apply these tools to your future exchanges.   NB: We will not discuss current events during the workshop. Part 2: Exploring and developing your digital identity ...because we shape the internet and the internet shapes us Explore the links between identity, polarization and misinformation, and what you can do to recognize and reduce their influence on your own worldview and those in your echo chamber. *The workshop will be followed by an optional 30-minute conversation club.
