Join us at the Community Waterfront Heritage Centre as we celebrate a local piece of Canadiana! On November 2nd we will have multiple speakers in to teach you all about the Ancaster, a locally built tugboat which was featured on the last Canadian $1 bill. Steve Briggs will talk about the history of Russel Brothers in Owen Sound, and the significance of the company to life in Owen Sound. Manuel Parreira, representing the Bank of Canada, will speak about the Ancaster itself, and how it ended up on the last $1 note. Admission to this show is by donation, but there are limited spaces available, so we ask that you pre-register for this event.
