Join Elise as she guides you through the making of fabric from fibre. Wet felting uses wool, soapy water, and agitation to create a new textile - but that is just the beginning. This introductory course gradually builds skills over a three week period.
The first lesson is flat felting. We will create a sweet wall hanging using two pieces of handmade felt. For day two of the workshop, we will felt a 3D vessel using the techniques we learned previously and apply them over a resist.
We will complete the series with a final workshop on nuno felting - nuno felting is the process of combining wool with an open weave fabric. We will use hand-dyed fine silk habotai to make a beautiful, lightweight scarf.
