Join us on September 18th, 2021 in celebration of our grand opening of the Trout Hollow Reserve in Meaford. Trout Hollow is a reserve of ecological and historical significance, generously donated to us by the Knight Family for EBC to continue its permanent conservation.&nbsp;From 10am to 2pm join us on FREE guided hikes of our reserves focused on birds, plants and history of Trout Hollow. We will also be announcing the winners of the Trout Hollow photography, artwork, short story contest.&nbsp;There will also be light refreshments and snacks provided at the community hall within a 10-15 minute walk (1.5 km) from the reserve. Food and drink will be available throughout the day from 10am-4pm, so if you choose to skip a hike, you can go and relax/socialize at the community hall.&nbsp;We will be offering EBC shuttles to those who need assistance getting between the community hall and our reserve.If you would like to attend any of the free guided hikes below, please register.10am -11am - Birds of Trout Hollow. Guided walk led by Beth Anne Currie (Chair of the Bruce Peninsula Bird Observatory)11am-12pm - Plants of Trout Hollow. Guided walk led by Barbara Palmer, a local botanical expert.12.30pm-2pm - History of Trout Hollow. Robert is a local historian and author of &#39;My Summer of Glorious Freedom: John Muir Saunters Around Southern Ontario in the Summer of 1864&#39;Between 12-12.30pm there will be the opening ceremony and winners of the Trout Hollow contest announced.
