My child will not be attending the play and will stay home on the 9th.

On Friday February 9th from 9:45am-1:45pm, the grade 7-9s will be attending Matilda the Musical at Pacific Christian Academy. We do want you to be informed about a particular aspect of the play. There will be a male dressed and performing as a female principal. This is strictly for comical reasons and students will be front-loaded beforehand to give opportunity for discussion. The play is being held at a well-established private, conservative Christian school and which would by no means encourage any form of violation to Christian values. Once again, the role is to lend a humorous and exaggerated take on the character. This was a practice that many plays in the past often adhered to. We understand that during current times, this can be a sensitive topic. If for any reason, you feel that you would not have your child attend, we completely understand! Because this is an all-day field trip and grade 7-9s teachers and EAs will be away, students that don’t attend the trip are asked to remain at home that day.
