From love to poetry, to love of art – this is Roopa Punen, the artist transformed from a lover of poetry to an artist. Her Mother soon recognized that her daughter had been born with a vivid imagination and had to put down her creative ideas on paper. Roopa studied art at the J.J. School of Art, Bombay. She has had several art exhibitions in both Bombay and Bahrain. Art has continued to be a passion with her and she has combined her love of art and children by teaching Art at Sacred Heart School. As an artist she has always been captivated by human faces and their emotions and also the vibrant colors of nature. Roopa is also deeply involved in various charity organizations here in Bahrain. Art has set her spirit free and allowed her to reveal the world inside herself.

About The Artist: Maureen Ferns
I'm a self-taught artist. My art represents my life experiences and love of nature, the cosmos & color. My art is created with the use of acrylic and mixed media paint, brushes, & other tools, through spontaneous, intuitive movement, and color choice. My goal is to inspire beauty, joy, and serenity in our emotions, which positively affect our overall health.
An introvert, I took solace in watching painting videos online, and because I already had a creative side doing other inspirational "do it yourself" arts and crafts, I took up painting; only to hear that I needed to use this skill, to help and empower the less fortunate, and so my journey with art began with experimentation, and now I feel I have, found my voice doing landscape, textured paintings. The part of a Bible verse that comes to my heart, is from Isaiah 61:3 Beauty for ashes

The Story Of the Artwork:
The story behind my "Morning Glory" painting is because I like to begin my day with Jesus, The Lion of Judah, While the picture doesn't actual convey a roaring lion, it is a gentle one, waiting for us to come softly, and meet with Him, in the meadows, among trees and have our morning communion times, with Him first.
