Inspire Community Outreach wants to support you and your family in this time of need. 


Inspire offers free educational webinars for parents in need of resources and support twice a month. Important topics such as advocacy, neurodiversity, positive parenting, and much more are covered during these 1-hour webinars. These are available to you at no cost and registration is required. 


Here are descriptions of our offerings: 


August 31: Advocacy 

IEPs, learning plans and talking about neurodivergence with educators. Advocating for a child who has additional support needs 


Sept 14: Practical Medication Management 

Join us to hear information on patient rights, advocacy, medication trials, the relative roles of parents, doctors, and pharmacists, and tips/tricks for dosing, reordering, and storage.


Sept 28: Embracing Neurodiversity Part 1

This workshop will increase understanding and how to support those who are neurodiverse, including complex children.


Oct 12: Embracing Neurodiversity Part 2

Understanding the why behind behaviour De-escalation tips & responses Understanding brain differences


Oct 26: Aggression 

This was created to help support carers understand what they are seeing, what's happening in the brain and body, and helpful options to respond.


Nov 16: Controlling Behaviour 

This new resource for families was created to help carers understand what they are seeing and discuss different approaches for what to do about it.  


Nov 30: Recorded Webinar Surviving the Holidays 

This webinar will focus on ways to manage the increased stress that can accompany the holidays. If you feel overwhelmed and even lonely around this time, we want to offer you some support. 

Topics include: holiday burnout, managing children when they are off school, increased feelings of being alone


Jan 11: Advocacy 

IEPs, learning plans and talking about neurodivergence with educators. Advocating for a child who has additional support needs 


Jan 25: Positive Parenting for Sensitive kids

Topics Include: screaming, sensitivity to their body and environments like sounds and tags, not listening, “challenging behaviours” and aggression that appears to be anxiety/worries, and nutritional challenges (ie. "picky eating")


February 8: Recorded Webinar Working with Schools

An introduction to student rights, planning, and working with schools to provide best-fit education experiences for your neurodivergent learner.


Feb 22: Embracing Neurodiversity Part 1


This workshop will increase understanding and how to support those who are neurodiverse, including complex children.

March 22: Recorded Webinar Managing Caregiver Burnout

When we have been operating at our capacity and under extreme stress, or lower stress for a long time, we can begin to experience burnout. This is a state of mental and physical exhaustion and overwhelm. This webinar will focus on noticing burnout, supporting others, and supporting ourselves through it. 


April 5: Recorded Webinar Aggression

This was created to help support carers understand what they are seeing, what's happening in the brain and body, and helpful options to respond.


April 19: Controlling Behaviours 

This new resource for families was created to help carers understand what they are seeing and discuss different approaches for what to do about it.  


May 3: Positive Parenting

This resource for families was created to help support carers understand behaviour, learn more about reflective parenting, and discuss a different approach to parenting, called 'good enough parenting.


May 17: Brains and Medication

Understand the basics of brain chemistry, and how commonly prescribed psychiatric medications affect that chemistry and produce different effects on mood, processing, and behaviour.

This session is held on Zoom, you will be sent an email with the zoom link after completion of this registration and a reminder email one week before the event and one day before the event.
