MFC Records and BitterCaress presents: Being your own manager, a step forward in your career. A workshop designed for artists and musicians, especially for electronic music producers and DJs    Disclaimer: This workshop is the same workshop given a few months ago, in November 2022 and in March 2023. This will mainly cover the same topics. There will also be some new content as our industry evolves and so do some best practices. Being creative is your main focus, but the truth is that you have to invest your time into the “business side” of your career in order to go further and achieve your goals. This workshop, presented by BitterCaress, will help you understand the different steps to build an effective career strategy and take a step forward your artistic career     After attending this workshop, you will mainly be able to:- Understand what are the main challenges of being your own manager ;- Understand how to build an effective career strategy ;- Structure and organize the business side of your artistic career ;- Understand what should come first and how to prioritise tasks ;- Sell yourself and contact promoters. Instructor: Camille Bernard – BitterCaressFor several years now, BitterCaress has been pursuing her own musical path. Coming from a classical music background and after studying the piano at the conservatory for several years in Paris, she discovered techno in Montreal when she moved there in 2014.  Camille had the chance to broaden her musical culture before going behind the decks at the end of 2018. She is already well-established in the Montreal local scene with many gigs under her belt, notably at Stereo Nightclub, the Society of Arts and Technology [SAT], Piknic Electronik, or for the OCTOV and Exposé Noir collectives. Having shared stages with Anetha, Nur Jaber, François X, Mac Declos, Parallx, Julian Muller, Laure Croft, or DINA among others, she has carved out her place in the contemporary techno landscape. Since the end of 2021, she has also begun to make waves internationally with several podcasts recorded for renowned SoundCloud channels such as The Brvtalist, RAW, Fast Forward Productions, SUBSTANTIV, or Groove Magazin.  Continuing this momentum, at the end of summer 2022, the artist made her European debut, playing in Paris, Lyon, Madrid, Berlin, Copenhagen, and London. During the summer of 2023, she embarked on a new European tour and expanded it to Vienna and Prague. In late 2023, she debuted for Boiler Room in Montreal.She is currently preparing a new European tour scheduled for autumn 2024.
