SNOWSHOE BADGE -
INDEPENDENTLY EARNED IN FOUR HIKES
Snowshoe Badge Participants must complete a total of four snowshoe hikes on the Bruce Trail, one of which must be within the Iroquoia Bruce Trail Club section which runs between Grimsby and the bottom of Kelso Conservation Area near Milton under the 401 on Appleby Line. Hikes must be on the main (white) or side (blue) trails.
Although the Snowshoe badge is offered to provide hikers a shorter badge goal during the winter season when other hiking goals are more difficult to achieve, snowshoeing is more energy intensive than hiking! Therefore, the minimum distance to count as a "snowshoe hike" is around 3-5 km, but longer hikes according to your ability & experience are encouraged. Hikes must be completed on different days. You may create and complete your own hikes or take part in any four snowshoe hikes offered by various leaders throughout the winter.
This badge is available for your canine companions, as well, if they accompany you.
