Elle a précédemment travaillé à l'Université McGill (Montréal ; 2002-2009) en tant que titulaire de la Chaire de recherche du Canada en neurosciences du développement et éducation (Chaire de niveau 1). Originaire de Manchester, au Royaume-Uni, elle a passé 30 ans de sa carrière à tracer les voies de développement des jeunes enfants, y compris les enfants autistes, ayant un diagnostic de syndrome de l'X fragile, du syndrome de Down ainsi que les enfants neurotypiques. Plus récemment, elle s'est concentrée sur la traduction de ces nouvelles connaissances en programmes numériques communautaires, co-conçus avec des éducateurs et des familles, pour aider à renforcer le fonctionnement cognitif dès le début de la vie. Elle a occupé des postes de recherche de haut niveau sur trois continents (Royaume-Uni, Canada et Australie) et a joué un rôle clé dans la diffusion des résultats de la recherche aux médias, aux réunions scientifiques et aux groupes de soutien aux parents dans le monde entier. En 2023, elle a publié « The Post-Pandemic Child », dans le cadre de la série « In the National Interest » visant à provoquer un débat pour provoquer des changements pour le bien. Despite mixed evidence, Professor Cornish supports the creation of new, personalized programs to aid children with neurodevelopmental conditions in various settings, including classrooms, homes, and communities. She previously worked at McGill University (Montreal; 2002-2009) as the Canada Research Chair in Developmental Neuroscience and education (Tier 1). Originally from Manchester in the UK, she has spent 30 years of her career to date tracing the developmental pathways of young children with vulnerable brains including children with autism, fragile X syndrome, Down syndromes as well children who are neurotypical.</span></span></div></div><div><div><span><span>Most recently, she has focused on the translation of this new knowledge into community-based digital programs, co-designed with educators and families, to help strengthen cognitive functioning early in life.
