Here to Tell: Face of Holocaust Survivors

Here to Tell: Faces of Holocaust Survivors is both a commemorative and educational photographic compilation honouring our Calgary (and Calgary connected) Holocaust Survivors.With 162 submissions, Here to Tell: Faces of Holocaust Survivors honours both living and deceased Holocaust Survivors. This book sheds light on each of the Survivors&#39; Shoah experiences, as well as provide a glimpse into lives lived by those who moved to Canada after the war. Many of the faces in the exhibit are well known in Calgary, and many have spent years sharing their Holocaust experience with students at the annual <a href="https://www.jewishcalgary.org/holocaust-education-symposium" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Holocaust Education Symposium</a>.Here to Tell: Faces of Holocaust Survivors consists of 39 images of living Survivors and 122 images of deceased Survivors. In the case of deceased Survivors, images are held up in the hands of their descendants.Each photograph is accompanied by a small write up about each Survivor, including date and place of birth, a few lines about their Holocaust experience, their experience after the war, and their outlook on life or message to future generations. All biographical information was provided by the Survivor themselves or from the Survivor&rsquo;s descendants.
