We are excited to welcome seasoned permaculture designer Graham Calder and founder of <a href="https://www.p3permaculture.ca/" style="color:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;user-select:auto;box-sizing:inherit">P3 Permaculture</a> to the Hudson Heartbeet Community Farm to teach this workshop packed with interesting and useful information, clear demonstrations, and hands-on practice! While putting theory into practice, workshop participants will be part of transforming a section of the Hudson Heartbeet Community Farm -  creating the start of a mini food forest next to the community-education space (you are welcome to observe during this portion of the workshop if you would prefer not to or are not able to participate). If you are interested in ecological design, want to grow more food, or want to naturalize your garden, this is the workshop for you! This workshop will inspire and empower you to plan and plant edible perennials (or a whole food forest!) in your own garden, homestead, or farm! During the theoretical portion of the workshop, you will learn about:- landscape planning,- plant selection, and- guild design. During the practical portion of the workshop, you will learn how to:- plant fruit trees- place support plants for your guild, - integrate water management and conservation into the landscape design with passive irrigation techniques.
