The Lakeland Humane Society invites you to "Raise the Woof" with us on Friday, June 24! Join us at our new location on HWY 55 W where local cover band Puddy's Canteen is gonna ROCK the house! Enjoy a cold beverage in the sun while taking in the live music - all in support of an amazing cause!  The Lakeland Humane Society is a non-profit, registered charity who relies entirely on community donations to care for the over 500 animals that come through our doors every year. In addition to running our day to day operation, we are currently raising money for Phase 3 of renovations and upgrades to our newly purchased facility on HWY 55. This new facility with it's increased capacity will allow us to take in and care for even more animals and hopefully never have to turn away an animal in need. The next phase of our construction plans includes literally raising the roof - a new one that is! The roof over our dog kennels is currently in a state of disrepair and the outdoor dog runs need cover to help shield the shelter dogs from the elements. To solve both of these problems, we are currently raising money for Phase 3 which will be the construction and installation of an overhead metal-clad roof structure. Our goal is to raise enough funds to complete the next phase of our construction project before the winter.  Fundraisers such as this one are what keep us afloat and allow us to feed, house and provide medical care for the homeless animals of this community that deeply rely on us. The LHS has continued to raise money towards a new shelter as well as the ongoing care of the vulnerable beings in our community.  On June 24, we want you to help us celebrate as we settle into our new home! Enjoy a stocked bar by drink ticket purchase, mouthwatering appetizers provided by the Pourhouse Bar & Grill, and if you feel like adding a little extra to your experience, Gouda & Brie Charcuterie snack bowls are available by preorder! We'll also be running a 50/50 if you want to try your luck, and firing up the grill later in the evening.  Parking at our new location is VERY limited, so we encourage you to take advantage of our safe ride home option!! We will have Cold Lake Bus Lines picking up concert-goers at the Cold Lake Energy Centre at 6:30 pm. They will drive you to our HWY 55 location and make sure you get home safe at the end of the night! We ask for a small donation to the LHS if using this service.  We are so excited to spend the evening with the animal loving members of our community.
