This time round
we’re bringing things back to our roots. Join us on August 26th as we showcase
a roster of Toronto’s very finest; Daniel 58 (Parallel Minds), Ceremonies (On
Earth), Fermi Lekunde (Chune Records) and Sandwich adept Ester Shiner will be
forming an evening of slinking soundscapes, cerebral chuggers, and rib rattling
goodness. Set in a new location, our team is galvanized and ready to present the next chapter in our story.  --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Daniel 58 is a producer and DJ whose work draws inspiration from his personal
and cultural background. His music blends intricate drum patterns and low end
frequencies, enriched with delicate sound design, to create a unique reflection
of his artistic identity. With nearly a decade of experience under his belt,
Daniel has established himself as a dynamic figure in the electronic music
scene through his innovative approach to producing and willingness to
experiment with different sounds and styles. It was this artistic vision that
led Daniel to co-found (along with Ciel, Raf Reza and Yohei S) Parallel Minds
in 2019, a record label that provides a platform for Toronto-based artists to
showcase their creativity to the world. By fostering and promoting local
talent, Parallel Minds aims to enrich Toronto's music scene and connect it with
global audiences. Ceremonies is a rising local talent whose sound has become rooted in percussion, bass, breaks, leftfield techno, and
punchy club tracks. She's graced clubs, raves, and festivals across North-East
America–notably playing both Boiler Room and Redbull Music Festival–and has
shared lineups with genre-defining artists like Martyn, Forest Drive West,
Aquarian, Volvox, and SHED. A past resident of Montreal’s n10.as and Lisbon’s
Rádio Quântica, Ceremonies has made guest appearances on both Rinse France and
Rinse.fm. As one-third of DIY rave collective On Earth, Ceremonies has been
interviewed in both academic and DIY spaces. She’s presented at conferences,
hosted workshops with Roland Instruments Canada, and has partnered on
large-scale events with the likes of Mutek and Toronto Pride. Fermi Lekunde offers warm techno atmospheres, textured rhythmic beats,
glitches, and hyper melodies. Classically trained in piano, he began to
experiment with electronic sounds early on, including FM synthesis,
deconstructed beats, and space FX. Founder of Chune Records, lead sound
engineer of the Arabic Orchestra, and collaborator of many, Fermi Lekunde is a jack of all trades who permeates an understanding of sound design well beyond their years. Getting the night
started will be none other than Sandwich chef Ester Shiner.
